Grange Cottage
A former Victorian gate lodge, Grange Cottage was built in 1881 and is a beautiful house full of charm and character. It is situated in the pretty village of Bonchurch, nestling between Ventnor and Shanklin. With the backdrop of the magnificent St Boniface Downs, the village is sheltered from the North and has a micro-climate of its own. Bonchurch is the best-preserved Victorian village on the Isle of Wight, and the architecture of Grange Cottage reflects the style and sophistication of the era.
The holiday cottage sleeps 8 guests and is perfect for families and friends wanting to holiday in a stylish, yet relaxed home. Available to rent for the first time from May 2010, it has been decorated to a very high standard with new carpets and blinds, sumptuous beds, handsome leather sofas, and sparkling kitchen appliances.
Grange Cottage is a wonderful place to wake up on a sunny morning, eat lunch in the courtyard garden, or
relax after a stressful day at the beach. Children will love feeding ducks on the pond at the end of the lane, and in the evening grown-ups can dine at the wonderful Pond Café, just round the corner, or order a lobster from the local fisherman for supper. Winters are just as inviting at Grange Cottage, where evenings can be spent in front of the open fire, with homemade lasagne for supper delivered from the Bonchurch Inn.
A stay at Grange Cottage allows you to escape from the hustle and bustle of busy lives, and slip back into the days when holidays meant fresh air, buckets and spades, rock-pooling on the beach and cycling along the tow path….
